Why:

Unicycling is a fascinating sport that captures the imagination of most people. The only two things that hold people back are:

2) a lack of confidence. (People say "I could never do that".)

The "Learn to Unicycle" program will solve both of these problems.

1) If you need a unicycle the city of Yellowknife has unicycle's for sale at a very reasonable price. Call the city at 920-5634 for details.
2) People normally lack confidence because of a lack of knowledge. With this program you will get the instruction and practice necessary to learn how to unicycle.

Instructor:

My name is Chris Taylor, and I have been an avid unicyclist for almost five years now. I started in 2000 and within two weeks of getting my first unicycle I was able to ride my unicycle. During my first year of unicycling I taught several people how to unicycle and helped many others unicyclists learn specific skills.

By the spring of 2001 I had become a serious Mountain Unicyclist. Global News and the Edmonton Journal both did stories about Mountain Unicycling with me.

Later in the spring of 2001 Help TV did a 5-minute feature on Learning to Unicycle. They got me to teach the host of Help TV how to unicycle. This program was aired nationally.

In July of 2001 I went to Toronto for a unicycle convention. I had the opportunity to compete with the best unicyclists in North America.

When I got back from the unicycling convention I was excited about unicycling, so in August I started the Edmonton Unicycle Club. Now there are about 60 people in the Edmonton Unicycle Club.

In July/Aug of 2002 I went to Seattle for UNICON XI (this is the unicycling World Championships) I had the opportunity to compete with the best unicyclists in the world. While in Seattle I also had the opportunity to get tested and to pass the Unicycling Society of America (USA) Skill levels 4, 5 and 6.

In 2003 I went to the North American Unicycle Convention & Championships in Minnesota & I won my first major race with Gold in the 1500M. At the 2004 championships in Salt Lake City I won gold in the 1500M, the 10KM & the Mountain Unicycle races. Our unicycle hockey team also won the gold medal.

I also maintain a Unicycle web site: Unicycling.net. There is a whole section of Unicycling.net devoted to learning to unicycle and learning new unicycle skills. Unicycling.net/Learn.

I am looking forward to teaching a new group of people to unicycle. I'm sure you will have the time of your life learning this unique sport.
